App Launch & ASO
Ship to the stores — and get found once you're there
Building the app is only half the job. It still has to pass review, look credible on its store page, and actually show up when people search. I handle both sides: the technical submission to the App Store and Google Play, and the App Store Optimization that turns a buried listing into one people find and download.

Getting through review the first time
Most launch delays don't come from code — they come from a rejected submission. I set up App Store Connect and Google Play Console properly from the start: bundle IDs, signing and provisioning, certificates, the data-safety and privacy declarations, age ratings, and the export-compliance answers that trip people up. Then I package the build the way each store expects and walk it through review. I've done this enough to know where the guidelines bite — missing privacy disclosures, permissions you request but don't justify, broken demo logins for the reviewer, thin or misleading metadata, and payment rules — so I head those off before submitting instead of finding out a week later. When a rejection does come, I read the actual guideline cited, fix the real cause, and resubmit fast rather than guessing.
A store listing that converts
Your listing is a landing page, and every field does a job. Thetitle carries your brand and your single most valuable keyword. The subtitle (iOS) and short description (Android) have seconds to say why the app is worth a tap. The iOS keyword field is invisible ranking fuel — I pack it with no wasted characters, no spaces, no repeats of words already in the title. The description earns the install by leading with the outcome, not a feature dump, and on Google Play it's also indexed for search, so it's written to rank as well as persuade. I write all of it to fit each store's character limits and rules, and in plain language a real person will read.
Screenshots and preview assets that sell
The screenshot carousel does more for conversion than any paragraph of text — most people decide from the first two frames without scrolling. I plan the sequence so the strongest value lands first, add short benefit captions instead of raw UI dumps, and size everything to the exact device dimensions Apple and Google require. Where a preview video or feature graphic helps, I script and produce it to show the app in motion in the first few seconds. The goal is simple: someone who's never heard of your app understands what it does and why they want it before they've read a single line.
ASO — getting found in search
A beautiful listing nobody sees earns nothing. The majority of app discovery still happens through store search, so ranking for the terms your users actually type is what drives free, compounding installs. I start with real keyword research — the phrases with genuine volume that you can realistically rank for — and map them across the title, subtitle, keyword field, and description without keyword-stuffing. ASO isn't a one-time setup, though. After launch I watch which terms you're ranking for, where you're stuck on page two, and how the listing converts, then iterate the metadata and creative to climb. This is exactly the loop I ran on aneducation app that grew past 200,000 downloads — sustained organic growth comes from tightening the listing again and again, not from one launch-day push.
The launch checklist
- Store accounts set up right — App Store Connect and Google Play Console, signing, certificates, and privacy declarations in order.
- Build packaged and submitted — the binary prepared to each store's spec, with a reviewer demo account and notes so nothing blocks approval.
- Metadata written and installed — title, subtitle, keyword field, and description tuned for both conversion and search.
- Creative in place — screenshots, captions, and any preview video sized correctly for every required device.
- Keyword targets chosen — a researched list of terms worth ranking for, mapped across the listing.
- Post-launch loop — tracking rankings and conversion, then iterating the listing to keep climbing.
Who this is for
- Founders launching a first app who've built something good but have never navigated store review or ASO and don't want the launch to stall.
- Teams with a live app that isn't being found — the product works, but search rankings and conversion are leaving installs on the table.
- Businesses shipping an update or a new market that need the submission handled cleanly and the listing localized and optimized.
Why work with me
I'm the developer and the person handling your launch, so there's no gap between the build and the store — I understand the binary I'm submitting and the metadata I'm writing. In 20+ years I've shipped real products at scale, including aneducation app past 200,000 downloads, anevent platform that handled 20,000+ registrants, and anews platform tuned for 200,000 daily visitors. I'm Top Rated on Upwork with 100% Job Success, and I treat your launch the way I treat the code: get the technical part exactly right, then keep iterating until the app is actually being found and downloaded.
